I Need Help

Understanding the Purpose

Based on the 2022 Fact Sheet, as well as the link to the common core info, it appears the workshop may be more geared towards older kids. Of course dancing at Disney would be awesome, but we just want to make sure this is something for our dancers.
The common core info is a "snapshot" that shows Disney's programming is relevant and educational, but by no means is a complete description of what the workshop offers :)  Disney Imagination Campus does indeed intend the curriculum for older dancers, however they are capable of tailoring the workshop material and experience to the age group we are bringing.
From my understanding it sounds like the workshop will take up a half day and possibly the performances will take up another half day. So potentially this would leave 2 full days for the parks. Does that sound about right?
I always encourage my families to expect the workshop and performance days to take 5 - 7 hours out of our day.  This would include transporting to/from the event, as well as the actual workshop/performance time. The workshop and performance are all the same day.  The trip is scheduled for a 4 night / 5 day stay, so it does indeed leave 2 full days at the parks.
Can I come to watch my dancer at the workshop?
Unfortunately the workshop experience is closed to all guests outside of our dancers and staff/chaperones.
Do I have to pay to enter Disney Springs for the performance?
No, the Disney Springs area is open to all guests free of charge, including the Advent Health Waterside Stage where our dancers will perform.
Can we join the trip even if our daughter is too young to dance on the team?  I would love to join the group as it sounds fun to go and cheer on our dancers, and also have a fun Disney trip!
Absolutely!  Families under the required age for participating are more than welcome to join the group!  This is an excellent opportunity for young dancers to see their older peers performing in the midst of the excitement of an international stage!
  • Enjoy time with the Dancing at Disney Families at the Most Magical Place On Earth!
  • Watch the Dancing at Disney Team Stage Performance at Disney Springs!
  • Tiny dancers not eligible for the workshop will have extra time in the parks with their families during the workshop time.

Understanding the Packages & Travel Arrangements

Can I stay off property, or book my own Walt Disney World resort stay?
Yes, families are free to choose to attend this trip as “commuters”, booking only their theme park tickets and their dancers Workshop/Performance Package.
Is the deposit required for the Resort or Commuter packages PER PERSON? And, do I have to have deposits for EACH person at Commitment Night?
Yes, the deposit amounts indicated is indeed PER PERSON.
** Remember that the Resort and Commuter Packages do not include workshop fee, transportation, dining options, or travel protection.  The package pricing is built around the room rate + tickets for the resort package, and tickets only for participants.**
Can I add people to my room after my initial commitment?
The easy answer to this is, yes you can.  The more detailed answer however is that it all depends on the current occupancy to the room, and what level resort the group has chosen.  Our resorts room block would consist of "standard" rooms that sleep up to four; and a "5th Sleeper" that sleep up to five. So, additions to the room can be made as long as you have not exceeded occupancy.

Adding additional rooms may be done up until the final due date for deposits, without question.  After that date rooms may only be added if Disney has availability.  In this case the FULL payment per person would then be due at the time of the late addition.
I noticed Walt Disney World is offering a discount on rooms - may I apply that to my group reserved room?
In regard to the room rates, our group is already receiving a better discount than that under any discount offered to the general public.  For example here is the rate comparison to the Disney+ discount offer:
  • Rack Rate = $1363.51
  • Disney+ = $1299.59 (note 5th sleepers have sold out under this discount)
  • Group Rate = $1140.00
In addition all discount offers from Disney have very limited availability at our resort, both in number of rooms and category of rooms.  Often the category rooms needed will not be available for the discount offer.  Lastly, only one discount may be applied to a room.  It is always best to stick with the group rate as the category rooms needed are guaranteed available, and also the cheapest option.
Do I have to fly with the group?
No, families are welcome to book their own flights, or drive to the resort if they wish.
If I book my own resort stay, may I still participate in the group flight?
Yes, guests making their own hotel accommodation arrangements are still welcome to fly with the group.
Can I fly one way with the group, but arrive ahead or leave later than the group, and still take advantage of the airfare discount?
No, unfortunately group airfare is “all or nothing”.  Those wishing to take advantage of the group flight discount must depart and return on the same itinerary as the group.
Can I extend my trip to Disney, or the Orlando / Florida area?
Absolutely!  Guests are more than welcome to book an additional stay whether it be at the Walt Disney World Resort, or at an area resort/attraction in Orlando.  Maybe you want to head to the beach after the performance trip?  The sky's the limit.  If you need assistance booking an extended or additional stay, reach out to Carrie Luedtke, or another travel agent of your choice!
Can I add the Disney Dining Plan to my trip?
Unfortunately the Disney Dining Plan is not available at this time due to the ongoing pandemic.
Which is best, the 3-Day or 4-Day Park Ticket?
The choice for number days of a park ticket will vary from family to family.
  • A 3-Day ticket is recommended for those who anticipate a later arrival on September 24th, and/or an earlier departure on September 28th as they will not have much time to spend in the park on those days.
  • A 4-Day ticket is recommended for those who anticipate an early arrival on September 24th, and/or a late departure on September 28th. This ticket would also be a good option for families planning to extend their trip either before or after our groups scheduled days.
What is Genie+ Service?
This is Disney’s new “pay for front of the line access” to select attractions.  This can be a very helpful tool in maximizing your park and attraction experience.
Am I required to wear a mask at any time on the trip?
  • Masks are optional in all airports and on all airlines at this time.
  • Masks are optional on all forms of public and theme park transportation.
  • Masks are optional INDOORS at the Walt Disney World resorts and theme parks.
  • Please note this is all subject to change.
Is there a vaccination requirement for flying or at the Walt Disney World resorts or theme parks?
No, there is no vaccination requirement for domestic flights, or at Walt Disney World.
Is there any accommodation for food allergies?
  • Please report any food allergies to Carrie Luedtke in advance of travel.
  • Airlines will work to accommodate passengers with food allergies to the best of their ability, but cannot guarantee there will not be zero presence of certain foods.
  • Walt Disney World theme park and resort restaurant will use preferences and notices shared in the My Disney Experience account for individual allergy attention and needs.  Guests may also make requests via mobile order, or with the Cast Member serving them.
Do I have to purchase Travel Insurance? And, must I purchase through the group
No, families may choose on their own if purchasing travel protection is the right for them.  Families may explore travel protection options through Carrie Luedtke (our group leader and travel agent), another travel agent of your choice, or through group benefits such as AAA or your credit card company.
What happens if I need to cancel?
There is some flexibility for canceling a resort or commuter package, with a graduated scale for refund.  In addition, depending on the cancellation date resort and ticket packages may be transferable, or non-transferable.  The earlier a cancellation the better chance of receiving most of your funds back.  The final deadline to cancel is 60 days prior to arrival

Group Flight cancellations must be made by 60 days prior to arrival.  Any deposit paid is non-refundable unless there is another traveler able to make use of the seat.  Any cancellations made at 45 days or closer to arrival are fully non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Raising the Funds

Fundraising is going to be really important for my family to be able to afford this trip.  What is the plan?
You are right!  Fundraising will likely be crucial for many families!  That being said, fundraising does take effort from everyone.  There are sales fundraisers, active fundraisers, and raffle fundraisers.  What works for one family may not for another.  Having a multitude of choices as well as motivated participants, means each family should have the opportunity to raise money toward their trip.  We welcome volunteers who would like to  brainstorm and enlist others to help!
